GROUP FOCUS

Our Facebook group is seriously maintained as a safe haven where we can discuss one topic and one topic only: JESUS CHRIST -- learning more about Him, eliminating the barriers that prevent us from enjoying a closer relationship with Him and developing attributes which are like Him. Nothing more. Nothing less.

We are passionate about maintaining this as a place where you are safe from judgment and criticism, falsehood and deception. Our sole focus is Jesus. True, topics like general conferences, leaders, priesthood and temples all point to Christ. But here, we focus not on the means, but the end. Not on the journey, but the destination point. Not on the persons, places or things which point to Him, but instead, *HIM* -- Jesus Christ.

That means this group is NOT about:

  • The church, the church president, his wife, other leaders/their spouses.
  • Church history, the temple, priesthood, BYU, church auxiliaries, church meetings, church conferences, and non-Christ-related church talks.
  • Essential oils, energy healing, politics, political leaders, genealogy/family history, history, Book of Mormon geography, prophetic events, preparedness or local (especially Utah) issues or events.
  • Gossiping, judging or "being concerned about" others.
  •
It IS about:

  • Not just knowing about Jesus, but knowing Him.
  • Learning about the fruits of such a relationship; Hearing and feeling the Spirit, exercising spiritual gifts, mighty prayer, calling and election, faith that moves mountains and parts veils, Zion and more. Also, the Prophet Joseph Smith had a deep, personal relationship with the Savior; his insights about Jesus and His gospel are particularly noteworthy.
  • Interacting with others who feel the same way. This is a place where you’re safe to share your personal insights about Jesus. “. . . let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good words; Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day [of His coming] approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25).

POSTS

Discussions are based on our own insights and the writings of mainstream authors aligned with the Group Focus. They may or may not be LDS (after all, authors like C.S. Lewis weren't members, and still had some terrific insights). Although membership isn't required, most (if not all) subscribers are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To ensure consideration of people's thoughts and privacy, NO CONTENT FROM THE PERFECT DAY FACEBOOK GROUP MAY BE SHARED OUTSIDE THE GROUP UNLESS FIRST OBTAINING PERMISSION BY THE POST'S ORIGINAL AUTHOR.

Please don't:

  • Post a poll or survey.
  • Publish a post or link to a webpage soliciting business or promoting products or services (without first obtaining the approval of a group admin).
  • Link to blogs, other groups, podcasts, non-music videos, non-church conferences and workshops, etc (there are a bazillion out there, and we don't have time to pre-approve every one of them. It's fine as long as it's cleared by a group admin ahead of time).
  • Post anything potentially controversial or make doctrinal assertions you may not be able to substantiate (because you may be asked to detail your sources).
  • Post long, lengthy content. Remember: On the internet, less is more. Longer posts tend to be ignored.
  • Say "I know this may be against the Terms and Conditions, but..." Either reword the post so it's in alignment, or don't post it at all.

Group admins reserve the right to remove posts and comments unaligned with the Group Focus, as well as links to any podcasts or blogs which contain unsubstantiated doctrinal claims, or require extensive review to determine if the site’s content is doctrinally safe or not.

Pridefully promoting false doctrines, instigating discord or consistent or flagrant rule violations may lead to being muted, unsubscribed or blocked...with or without warning nor explanation.

INTERACTING

  • Please first seek to understand, then to be understood. If you disagree with something someone has posted, first privately communicate with the person in question, seeking clarification of their thoughts. If that doesn't work, then PRIVATELY private message group admins.
  • It's a fact: Nearly every post which testifies of Jesus Christ invariably gets a comment which says, "Thanks, I needed that today!" This is a place where your testimony and insights about Jesus Christ can and will help change lives.
  • Participation is EASY! Throughout your day, contemplate all that the Savior has done for you. Ponder His gospel. Think about what He's said and done for you. Then post or comment on anothers' post. If you're uncomfortable with that, you can at least thank someone for their insights, say “I’ll pray for you,” like a post (takes all of 1 second) and more. It's a piece of cake to participate.
  • If you need to be inspired, prompted or compelled to do any of the above (some of which are very simple to do), please remember that "it is not meet that I [the Lord] should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward." That's because "men [and women] should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness". If you feel like you can't interact -- even by thanking another subscriber for sharing their thoughts on our group -- then please consider subscribing when you feel like you can.
